Holmes Chapel and District Community First Responders were invited to attend the Sandbach Rugby Club - Bonfire and Fireworks event. The group had a pitch there and rose awareness about who we are and what we do, we also gave out our latest newsletters.

Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders would like to welcome two new interim members to the Management Committee - A new Secretary Sue A and New Defibrillator Project Leader Sarah B. Please join me in celebrating the new members onboard which will help strengthen the operations. We would also like to a farewell and a big thank you to Natalie B - Leaving Secretary for all your hard work.

This newsletter is published every 3 months and helps to give you more information about us and what we have been doing in and around the local community. Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders have 5 new members join their team. The 5 new volunteers have just completed their training course and passed their assessments. Congratulations to them all. This will now mean more "on duty" time will be covered by the group to respond to local medical emergencies.

Holmes Chapel 7 District Community First Responders would like to thank everyone who has supported the organization with our 2 recent events. We recently attended the Middlewich Boat and Folk Festival and raised a total of £298.00 On the 27th June we attended the Goostrey Rose Festival and raised a total of £69.80 These monies will now be used to further the organizations 3 projects - Community First Responders, Heartstart UK & Defibrillator Placements.

Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders today attended the 1st Meeting of St.Lukes Friends at the Village Hall in Goostrey. Group members spoke about "Who We Are" & "What We Do" and also had a questions time at the end. The morning was very successful and we would like to thank everyone who made a donation. We raised £40 and this will now go towards furthering our projects.

Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders recently attended the Sandbach Transport Festival on the 18th & 19th April. The local group had a stall over the full weekend, and held a Tombola and gave out leaflets and Newsletters about “Who We Are” and “What We Do”. The weekend was very successful and we raised £232.20. We would like to thanks everyone who gave donations over the weekend, and this money will now be used to further the Heartstart UK and Defibrillator Placement Projects in the Local Communities.

Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders AGM ( Annual General Meeting) is being held on Friday 29th May, starting at 7.30pm. The AGM is going to be held at The Goostrey Playing Filed/Sports complex on Booth Bed Lane, Goostrey, Cheshire. This is open to the General Public and you’re welcome to attend. If you wish to attend we would be grateful if you could let us know by any means of our “Contact Us Page” as this will help us plan the number of chairs and refreshments that are required.

Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responders recently attended an engagement event held by North West Ambulance Service at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. On behalf of the Trust’s Community First Responders, members of the Holmes Chapel & District Community First Responder Group had an exhibition stand promoting CFRs, informing the public “Who we are” & “What we do” as well as handing out leaflets for recruitment.

Holmes Chapel Community First Responders are looking for donations to help purchase a second Group Responder Car and for its maintenance & insurance. This is due to the need and calls that we are getting in our Response Area. If your able to help with any donation please contact us on hccfr@hccfr.org.uk OR 01477 532058. This will enable the group to expand and to continue to save lives in the community.

Holmes Chapel Community First Responders on the 26/09/2008 purchased a Group Response Vehicle & Insurance, with the kind support and donations from, Congleton Borough Council, Goostrey Parish Council, and Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund. The vehicle is a Fiat Panda and will be used to respond to the Emergency calls within the community by the groups volunteers. This will also help promote the groups profile within the area.
