Heartstart UK Holmes Chapel & District Initiative is run by the same members of the Community First Responder team. Our aim of running Heartstart UK is to teach Emergency Life Support Skills to as many members of the public etc, Free of Charge. Heartstart UK is initiated by the British Heart Foundation, and they supply the group with all the initial equipment need to start the scheme. However, all our new stock and room hire charges have to be funded by the group. This is done by working hard in the local community fund raising, or through donations from the general public.
The course runs for 2 hours, and covers the following areas of Emergency Life Support

• Dealing with a Heart Attack
• Unconscious Patient – Recovery Position
• Choking
• Resuscitation (CPR)
• Life Threatening Bleeds
